1. Overview
This Refund Policy explains when and how Breakout Strategies (“Breakout”, “we”, “us”), operated by Breakout Strategies Ltd, will refund payments for subscriptions, credit packs and services. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
Merchant of Record. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle’s Buyer Terms and Conditions apply to every purchase you make from us.
Enterprise and VIP plans are custom engagements invoiced directly by Breakout Strategies Ltd by PayPal or bank transfer, not through Paddle. Refunds for those plans are governed by your order form or statement of work and handled directly with us, not by Paddle.
Because every business uses Breakout differently, we review refund requests on a case-by-case basis. We aim to be fair, and nothing in this policy limits the statutory rights you have as a consumer where those rights apply.
2. Cancelling a subscription
- You can cancel at any time from your account settings or by emailing us at the address below.
- Cancellation stops future renewals. Your access continues until the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
- We do not automatically refund the remaining part of a billing period when you cancel. If you believe a refund is warranted, you can request one under section 3.
- To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel before your renewal date. Renewal dates and receipts are shown in the billing portal linked from your Paddle receipt emails.
3. Requesting a refund
To request a refund, email morgan@breakoutstrategies.ai with:
- the email address on your Breakout account;
- your Paddle order or receipt number;
- the plan or purchase the request relates to; and
- a short explanation of why you are requesting a refund.
We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and give you a decision within 5 business days. Where we need more information we will ask for it. Approved refunds are issued by Paddle to the original payment method, and typically appear within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer.
You can also contact Paddle directly at paddle.net; Paddle will coordinate with us on your request.
4. When we will refund
We will generally approve a refund where:
- The Services did not work as described and we were unable to fix the problem within a reasonable time after you reported it.
- You were charged in error, for example a duplicate charge, a charge after you cancelled, or an incorrect amount.
- You request a refund within 14 days of your first payment on a new subscription and have made only limited use of the Services. We treat first-time subscribers generously.
- You cancel an annual plan early for a legitimate reason. In this case we may refund the unused portion of the term, less the value of the months used at the monthly rate, at our discretion.
- We materially reduce a plan’s core functionality or discontinue the Services, in which case we refund any prepaid, unused period.
- Applicable consumer law requires it.
5. When we normally will not refund
Refunds are not usually available for:
- renewal charges where you did not cancel before the renewal date, unless you contact us promptly and have not used the Services in the new period;
- partially used months on a monthly plan;
- Breakout credits that have been consumed. Credits are used up when you run AI-powered features, so consumed credits represent processing that has already been delivered. Credit packs that are entirely unused may be refunded within 14 days of purchase on request;
- strategist, consulting, done-for-you or Enterprise and VIP services that have already been delivered or started, except as set out in your order form or statement of work;
- dissatisfaction with results, such as views, subscribers, leads or revenue, which depend on many factors outside our control;
- accounts terminated for breach of our Terms of Service;
- changes of mind after the periods described above, or failure to use the Services.
6. Consumer cancellation rights
If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, the European Union or another jurisdiction with similar rules, you may have a statutory right to cancel a purchase of digital services within 14 days of the order and receive a refund. By choosing to start using the Services immediately after purchase you acknowledge that, to the extent permitted by law, your right to cancel may be lost or reduced in proportion to the Services already supplied. Where the law gives you rights that go beyond this policy, those rights apply.
7. Chargebacks and disputes
Please contact us before raising a dispute with your bank or card issuer. Most issues can be resolved quickly by email, and a chargeback takes considerably longer for everyone. If a chargeback is raised for a charge we consider valid, we may suspend the account until the matter is resolved and may provide Paddle and the card network with evidence of your use of the Services.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The version in force when you make a purchase applies to that purchase. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
